The paps caught Kiernan yet again shopping on a Tuesday afternoon in Studio City. I feel like they are trying to figure out what she is cooking? That’s just me. At least she didn’t seem to mind too much and smiled for the camera.

I came across an Italian article today that may be of some importance. According to this article which I have translated and will post below it says that Kiernan will be one of nine celebs (the others including people like Tavi, Rowan Blanchard, and Kate Bosworth.

I have yet to see any English articles about this but since the presentation for Miu Miu Women’s Tales will be taking place in Italy for the Venice Days Of Authors  annual event it would make sense that the first news would come from Italy.  We’ll find out on September 2nd!

At the Venice Days of the Day, nine female stars arrive for Miu Miu Women’s Tales conversations

Chloë Sevigny’s and Celia Rowlson-Hall’s feminine looks start at the sixth Miu Miu Women’s Tales project in collaboration with the Days of Authors at the Lido of Venice.

The essence of Women’s Tales is a search for the complexities and contradictions of the contemporary world, told by the greatest female talents of art expressing themselves through cinema. This year’s Miu Miu women are nine and are Golden Globe winners, they are musicians, influencers and choreographers, are producers, actresses and writers.

From August 31 to September 2, a three-day program showing the character of the protagonists through two new shorts that join the Women’s Tales collection and the unusual, sincere, intimate conversations of great protagonists of the international show For you with the public. We will have some of La La Land’s “star cities” atmospheres thanks to the Rowlson-Hallshort film that returns to Days after two years. Chloë suggests some feelings from the Opinions of a Böll Clown , thanks to a contemporary portrait of a comic actress in solitude. We will know Tavi Gevinson and Hailey Gates ,

On August 31st will be premiered the 14th chapter of the Miu Miu home collection, directed by the multifaceted Celia Rowlson-Hall , choreographer, dancer and American filmmaker who presented the first feature film to the GdA in 2015 MA . The short (The [End) Illusion of History] combines the Hollywood musicals of the thirties with the nightmare of the Cold War of the sixties in a story in pastel shades between fear and desire to escape. On the same day, the 13th short film will be screened, directed by actress Chloë Sevigny , winner of a Golden Globe and Oscar nominee for the unforgettable Boys Do not Cry (1999). Carmen is starred by comedian actress Carmen Lynch and is a review of the highs and basses of the showbiz and portrait of a woman who lives from within. An interesting glimpse of the solitude that accompanies the stages of a tour around many cities.

What are the challenges and outlines of a career in film and media today? This question will try to find the answer to the protagonists of conversations.

It begins on the morning of Friday, September 1st, with the two short filmmakers. Celia Rowlson-Hall’s choreography was seen by millions of people in the TV series Girls , and in the irresistible pop video for Alicia Keys and MGMT. Chloë Sevigny , critically acclaimed, has a career of over two decades including films such as Kids and the unpublished The Snowmanand Lean on Pete .

In the afternoon, Kate Bosworth and Zosia Mamet will be revealed to the public . The first debuted in The Whispering Man , and played a prominent role in Still Alice . He has recently produced, with his Make Pictures label, the Ninth movie , which gives a face to the sexiest industry of Central America. Zosia Mamet is an actress, musician and producer (known to Mad Men and the guys are well ), especially for her unforgettable Shoshanna Shapiro role in the HBO Girls series, awarded with the Golden Globe. In the next months,

On September 2, protagonists of the morning session are Laura Harrier , Kiernan Shipka and Rowan Blanchard . Model and actress Laura Harrierdebuted in film with Spider-Man: Homecoming , and will play a protagonist in the new HBO cinematic adaptation of the classic dystopian novel, Fahrenheit 451 . Kiernan Shipka has proved to be a full-length actress with Sally Draper in Mad Men , and has recently dropped into Bette Davis’s daughter in the television series Feud: Bette and Joan . Note for Riley’s role in Disney’s Girl Meets World ,

Closes in the afternoon with Hailey Gates and Tavi Gevinson . Gevinson is the founder and director of “Rookie”, an online magazine and teenage book collection. Since launching in 2011, when she was only 15 years old, Tavi has set up a whole generation of writers as a media expert influential voice for an audience of teenagers. At age twenty-five, Tavi is also an actress with three shows at Broadway (including This Is Our Youth and The Crucible ) and the movie Do not say anything else . Hailey Gates is extraordinarily eclectic: he has been the editor of the legendary Paris Review magazine, modeling in a campaign by Miu Miu, lead designer of the fashion docu-reality of Viceland States of Undress ,

Moderately, Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales Conversations could only be another female talent who came back to host for the third consecutive year: Penny Martin , director of The Gentlewoman magazine.

The appointment with the short films is at 5 pm on Thursday 31st August in Sala Perla. The conversations will be held at the Space Foundation of the Performing Arts, in the frame of Hotel Excelsior at the Lido of Venice.

The paps have once again caught Kiernan out and about shopping for fruits and veggies in Santa Monica! Not sure why they are so obsessed with where she buys her carrots but check out that adorable red floral dress! Not sure where she got it but its cute as hell and I’m curious as to whether or not they sell it in blue!

It seems like the paps really can’t get enough of Kiernan going grocery shopping. Once again they found her buying produce at a local farmers market. Wearing some cute starred Madewell jeans, Chloe boots and an Indiana Jones-esque hat, she picked up fruits and veggies.

Onward to website news. As you can now see we got us a new official domain! Yay! With that there are many links from our newsfeed that no longer link you to the gallery. Don’t freak! I will be working on fixing this ASAP!

Just as we were worrying about seeing our little fashinista in more than just The Silence which is slated to start filming this fall, deadline dropped this amazing bomb on us all!

Kiernan Shipka, Candice Bergen, Kathryn Erbe & Jared Gilman Join Frank Langella In ‘Lapham Rising’

Mike Fleming Jr
Deadline

EXCLUSIVEKiernan ShipkaCandice BergenKathryn Erbe and Jared Gilmanhave joined Frank Langella in Lapham Rising, the Charlie Kessler-directed film adaptation of Roger Rosenblatt’s bestselling novel. Langella signed on after he completed his role as the Russian spy handler on the FX drama The Americans, and after winning his fourth Tony Award for Broadway’s The Father. Rosenblatt adapted his book and the pic will shoot in the Hamptons. BCDF Pictures (Bachelorette) and the Kerry Orent Company (Money Monster) are producing.

Lapham Rising tells the story of Harry March, a retired writer whose life starts to unravel when a multimillionaire begins building a mansion across from his quiet island home in the Hamptons. Up until now, he has lived peacefully with his talking dog, Hector, a born-again Evangelical and unapologetic capitalist. To Harry, the gargantuan mansion represents the fetid and corrupt excess that has ruined modern civilization. Which means, quite simply, that this is war. Kessler makes his directing debut on the film.

Shipka went from playing Don Draper’s daughter in Mad Men to Bette Davis’s daughter B.D. Hyman in FX’s Feud; Erbe starred in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Oz, while Gilman’s breakout came in the Wes Anderson-directed Moonrise Kingdom. Langella is repped by ICM and Circle of Confusion, Shipka by CAA and Anonymous Content, Bergen by ICM Partners, Erbe by Innovative Artists and Industry Entertainment, and Gilman by ICM and Dmand Talent. Rosenblatt is repped by the Watkins/Loomis agency.

KIERNAN SHIPKA

She’s learning from the greats.

“I don’t do that much karaoke and it’s really frustrating to me,” I can feel Kiernan Shipka’s pain from the other side of the Atlantic. At just 17, the actor is four years shy of being allowed into bars. If I was her, well, frustrated wouldn’t begin to cover it. “‘Last Dance’ by Donna Summers would probably be the most fun to do,” she imagines, “but I also feel like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, I’d tell myself to do, then halfway through I’d be like, ‘This is the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life!’” She settles on Taylor Swift, one of “the modern classics”.

It’s hard to even believe the Mad Men star is 17. Joining the American period drama at just seven years old, picturing her in any other way than as the troubled pre-teen Sally Draper is near impossible. Shipka’s own childhood was the antithesis to her character’s, calling her coming-of-age on the show “loving and fun and casual” and her adolescence spent on set “an amazing environment… a special thing”.

Prior to the series, she grew up watching and practising musical theatre, evident in the way she enunciates every word over the phone, peppering our conversation with endearingly dramatic pauses and sudden exclamations of “Oh gosh!” She’s just seen Dear Evan Hansen when we speak—”just amazing”—and obsesses over a long list of more shows. “I mean, Wicked has a very special place in my heart,” she enthuses, ‘I’ve seen it six or seven times… The Lion King… All of them! I adore singing and I like dancing, so if I could do more of that combined with acting, that would be amazing.” Andrew Lloyd Webber, if you’re reading this, Shipka is waiting for the call.

Her latest hit show, Feud, is more similar to Mad Men than her beloved musicals; another period piece set in the 60s, this time based on the infamous rift between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. “I’ve seen What Ever Happened to Baby Jane a million years ago, and I knew briefly about the feud,” Shipka says of the notorious rivalry between the two screen sirens, who fought both personally and professionally over everything, from roles and awards to love interests. “Digging in and finding all of those amazing juicy details… It wasn’t just them feuding against each other, there were a lot of people pitting them against each other,” she explains. “That was eye opening.”

Shipka appears as B.D., the daughter of Bette Davis (played by the inimitable Susan Sarandon) who went on to publish a scathing, and largely unverified, exposé on her mother in later life. “I think that B.D. lived her life as Bette Davis’ daughter,” muses Shipka, “and was struggling to find her way as B.D.”

Shipka and her fictional mother had none of the aggressions of their real life counterparts, calling working with Sarandon “a dream come true”. “She was a partner in crime,” she continues, “a sparring partner in those more intense scenes.” The show’s other lead, living legend Jessica Lange, sent her into fan girl fits, “Just making eye contact, I was like, ‘My life is made. I’m done. I’m good!’”

Brainchild of Ryan Murphy—the cult show creator who Shipka calls “the crème de la crème, the most amazing director/human/person/brilliant mind ever”— Feud goes further than highlighting the destructive horrors of Hollywood’s cut-throat competition. With Murphy’s Half foundation, an initiative sparked to secure gender equality in off-screen film roles, 60 percent of the show – runner’s directing slots go to women, in contrast to the industry average of 17 percent. “[Murphy] shows that it’s possible,” enthuses Shipka. “He doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk. That set was incredibly diverse with so many voices, and it made for a warm, well rounded, amazing vibe.”

Luckily, unlike Davis and Crawford the young actor hasn’t made any enemies of her own and she’s steered clear of scandal in any form. “Everything becomes everyone’s business,” she reasons of online media. “I literally post photos of my dog and food,” she snorts, “I’m not dating anyone… Owning myself and my feelings is the most empowering thing I can do… I keep it pretty low key but who knows what’s gonna happen? I’ll try to sneak into a karaoke bar and then get kicked out, that’s what’s going to destroy me!”

Since wrapping Feud (a second series is due, this time detailing the tumultuous relationship between Prince Charles and Diana), Shipka’s been stationed at home in Los Angeles, taking classes and hanging out with her dog. “I have a few things that might be lined up for later in the year, so we’ll see,” she says coyly. “The Blackcoat’s Daughter, a movie I did with Emma Roberts is out right now. That’s really exciting and fun, but besides that, I’m just waiting for the right thing.”

Having graduated high school (home school) at just 15 and already earning herself college credits alongside her astounding career, the teenager makes me feel like an underachiever. She’ll be 18 in September and meets my preemptive congratulations with, “Ugh! Don’t remind me!” College isn’t on the cards right now, but she’s educating herself through both literature and life in Los Angeles. “I love this city so much,” she effuses. “I’m really into food and art and culture. LA provides this giant landscape to explore all of that and the city and understand everyone living in it, it’s boundless. A beautiful experience.”

On her current path, by the time September and adulthood roll around, the leading-lady-in-waiting might just be ruling the land she loves so much.
